We look forward to meeting you.   More about our company Welcome to our web site. I would like to tell you the history of Beauty Essence. I’m Mary Gillmore the salon owner. I was born in 1965 & live in North London with my husband Mark & our twins (born 2002). I spend my time working at all the salons & in my office. If you would like to meet me I am normally in the City salon every Friday. I qualified at the London College of Fashion in the summer of 1986 with a BTEC HND in Beauty Therapy & Business Management. In the autumn I started my career at Cannons Sports Club, EC4 as the Beauty Therapist. Several years later I took over the business, which grew until I was employing 12 Therapists. In 1997 Beauty Essence (Bow Lane, EC4) came up for sale. As this was our direct competitor, I decided it would be a good acquisition. Meanwhile, Vardon had taken over Cannons & they bought us out in 1998. Beauty Essence went from strength to strength. In 2004 we decided we needed more space & a property became available in 7 Well Court, just off Bow Lane, EC4M 9DN - 020 7248 01027. We moved in Jan 2006 to a gorgeous new huge salon. We love it! In 2004 I was offered the beauty concession in Soho at Smiths hair salon 57 Poland Street, W1F 7NW - 020 7734 9734. We opened in July 2004 with 2 rooms, a beautiful reception & nail bar. The salon is stunning. We love working with the hair staff, many of whom I knew from Cannons Sports Club as we worked together there. In November 2007 we took over an existing salon in Mayfair, 40 Curzon Street, W1J 7UR - 020 7409 3221. The philosophy for my businesses is that we create a warm, welcoming, approachable atmosphere where our clients feel nurtured & respected. We are passionate about our work & have a really lovely team of therapists. We stock Clarins (City salon), Dermalogica, Environ, Guinot, Essie, ID Bare minerals, Jessica, OPI, Xen Tan & several other product ranges. We perform over 26,000 individual appointments a year! She specialises in Sports, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone & No Hands Massage, & also Nutrition. Belinda works full time in our Mayfair - W1 salon   She joined us in 2010. She specialises in Dermalogica, Jessica, Ellipse IPL & Hot wax. Busi is from Zimbabwe & works full time in the Mayfair - W1 salon   CIDESCO & CIBTAC. She joined us in 2008. Veronique is a part time massage therapist in our City -EC4 salon   ITEC. She joined us in 2006. She specialises in Sports & Deep Tissue Massage & Reflexology.
