| More about our company |
| Welcome to our web site. I would like to tell you the history of Beauty Essence. I’m Mary Gillmore the salon owner.
I qualified at the London College of Fashion in the summer of 1986 with a BTEC HND in Beauty Therapy & Business Management.
In the autumn I started my career at Cannons Sports Club as the Beauty Therapist. Several years later I took over the business, which grew until I was employing 12 Therapists. In 1997 Beauty Essence (Bow Lane, EC4) came up for sale. As this was our direct competitor, I decided it would be a good acquisition. Meanwhile, Vardon had taken over Cannons & they bought us out in 1998. |
| Beauty Essence went from strength to strength. In 2004 we decided we needed more space & a property became available in Well Court (just off Bow Lane). We moved in Jan 2006 to a gorgeous new huge salon. We have been there over a year now & we love it! |
| In 2004 I was offered the beauty concession in Smiths hair salon(Poland Street, W1). We opened in July 2004 with 2 rooms, a beautiful reception & nail bar. The salon is stunning. We love working with the hair staff, many of whom I knew from Cannons as we worked together there. |
| In September 2007 we opened our third salon within the thirtysevendegrees health and fitness club. The club is situated adjacent to Tower Bridge on London’s south bank. There are four fully equipped treatment rooms and an amazing new type of luxury pedicure chair. |
| In November 2007 we took over an existing salon in Mayfair (In Harmony, Curzon Street, W1) bringing the total to four. |
| December 2007 and our fifth salon opened in the second thirtysevendegrees health and fitness club. The club is located in Beaconsfield Terrace Road W14, next to Olympia. We have three beautiful treatment rooms. As with our other salon located within thirtysevendegeers gym membership is not required to use the beauty facilities. |
| The philosophy for my businesses is that we create a warm, welcoming, approachable atmosphere where our clients feel nurtured & respected. We are passionate about our work & have a really lovely team of therapists. In 2006 we performed over 16,000 individual appointments! We have lovely clients who make the business what it is today. Thank you. |
